Help LA Make and Create

The Mid City reDiscover Center
The success of reDiscover over the past 20 years has been largely thanks to our wonderful community of supporters. Because of your generosity, we have been able to spark creativity and innovation for thousands of kids in West LA and beyond.
Today we are excited to announce our plans to open a second Makerspace location in Mid City that will bring our programs -such as Tinkering Camps, creative reuse workshops, and maker classes for schools- to largely underserved neighborhoods in LA. The new space will serve an additional 5,000+ youth a year and will be a center of creativity, filled with tools and materials to ignite the inventive spirit and teach tomorrow's problem solvers.
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP. We have raised 80% of the funds needed but we still need to raise an additional $72K for building improvements, tools, and equipment to open by this fall. Any donations made before June 30th will be matched by an anonymous donor (up to $25K) so your gift will have double the impact!
All donors will be invited to our pre-opening preview event!

Opening Fall 2023!
The Mid City reDiscover Center will expand sustainable maker education across LA and provide youth in Mid City, Koreatown, West Adams, Pico Union and beyond with the opportunity to design, plan, tinker, and create. Makers of all ages will join a community where together we transform discarded materials into useful and beautiful objects.
The Mid City reDiscover Center will be located at 2375 W Washington Blvd in a large ground floor retail space provided by Hollywood Community Housing.
At the Center and in the field, we will serve youth from across Central LA, where all too often local schools are unable to provide robust arts programs. At the Mid City reDiscover Center, youth ages 5-15 will design, plan, tinker, and create. Young adults will gain job-readiness skills for careers in fabrication, construction, and the creative economy. Makers of all ages will join a community where together we transform discarded materials into useful and beautiful objects.
