Meet the Facilitators: Yeltsin Penado

Yeltsin Penado joined reDiscover Center as a Programs Manager in 2021. He works closely with Facilitators and interns collaboratively and by creating curriculum and educational materials. Yeltsin is passionate about arts education with an emphasis on diversity and inclusive lesson structures. “My teaching superpower is being empathetic to a student's interests and imagination - I am excited to go on a creative journey and guide students to their own personal success.” Yeltsin studied Painting and Community Arts Engagement at Otis College of Art and Design and comes to reDiscover with experience in informal education, STEM, digital fabrication, and team management in dynamic settings. Yeltsin sources and creates his own natural pigments for drawing and painting, but also works in Video and 3D Animation. He creates art from his studio at the Artist Co-op in Long Beach and has exhibited locally and internationally, including the Autry Museum of the American West and is featured in teh collection of the Long Beach Public Library.
