Helen Kim joined the board of Rediscover Center in 2024 after learning about Rediscover and bringing tinkering kits to her children’s school library; she loves the idea of makerspaces bringing non-digital creativity to kids while reusing discarded materials. Helen comes from the library world, where she worked as an archivist; she also has a background working in nonprofits. She has since founded the Parent Teacher Organization at her children’s school, serving as president for two years and creating a thriving community coming out of the pandemic. In addition to bringing a makerspace to the school, she also brought a microforest and native plant garden and is the happy defacto guardian of both.
