Community Activities

reDiscover Center’s Community Programs are great for festivals, library and museum events, school fairs, farmer’s markets, and fundraisers. They can easily be modified for private groups like birthday parties. We offer experiential and project based activities that combine art, tinkering, and exploration. All reDiscover activities use creative reuse materials collected from LA businesses and households. From cardboard tubes and corks to industrial offcuts, reDiscover’s clean, safe, curated materials inspire memorable creative experiences in a sustainable way.

Community Programs include tented activity booths at street festivals, huge Cardboard Playgrounds that can anchor a cultural event, STEAM activities, Tool Petting Zoos, preschool exploration zones, and more. reDiscover’s facilitators are professional artists, makers, and educators, ready to connect with your audience through hands-on activities. reDiscover has been with the Mar Vista Farmers' Market since our very first day. They have consistently provided wonderfully creative “reuse” art projects for the kids who come to the market each week. reDiscover not only teaches creativity and resourcefulness, they also, through their upcycling approach, model the importance of conservation and repurposing. Our children benefit from these fun projects while developing a multidimensional approach and a wider awareness of "things". We are so lucky to have reDiscover as part of our community.
Diana Rodgers, Executive Director, Mar Vista Farmers' Market

Kids at our Library absolutely loved the Wind Tube Activity from the reDiscover Center. Their staff brought all kinds of recycled materials for the kids to use and create their flying objects. Learning what designs worked best in the wind tube was the most fun. We look forward to partnering with them again for additional STEM programs!
