Get excited for Cardboard City, one of reDiscover's biggest programs ever! Cardboard City is a free public art gallery and activity center produced by the passionate makers at reDiscover Center, artists from across Los Angeles, and you! We're transforming a 10,000 sf retail space on the Third Street Promenade into this summer's most exciting place for art, sustainability, and community. With 12' sculptures, massive collaborative art installations, cardboard costuming, skills building classes, and community connections, Cardboard City is a celebration of creativity and explosion of joy.
Join in on the fun of making cardboard art and visit us this summer!
While Cardboard City is free and open to all visitors, groups of 10 or more are encouraged to make a reservation. Tours and private classes are available for a modest fee. Camp and community center groups are encouraged to attend with at least one chaperone per ten children to view the exhibit or take a class and one chaperone per five children for the free crafting activity.
Call for Artists
reDiscover Center seeks proposals from artists and makers working in the Los Angeles area for inclusion in Cardboard City to create cardboard-based art and community art experiences. Stipends are available for selected artists.

Volunteer and Internship Opportunities
Looking to participate in fun sustainable artmaking while making an impact? reDiscover's community outreach programs are made possible by the contribution of hundreds of volunteers who work with youth or behind the scenes to prepare materials for educational programs. At Cardboard City, we have individual and group volunteering opportunities daily through July and August. Volunteers who sign up for a regular schedule receive additional training in using tools and teaching hands-on STEAM programs. We love our volunteers!
