After School Classes: Tinkering
Learn tools, build big, and make friends. This class teaches children the skills they need to turn their wildest imaginings into robust items made from wood, plastic, metal, and fabric. With a 5:1 tinkerer-to-facilitator ratio, our workshop provides a supportive environment for personal growth through skills development and creative construction. Use hand and power tools. Turn scraps and recyclables into personalized artworks.
Students will gain the skills they need to work confidently to design and build creations as wild as their imaginations. reDiscover Center Facilitators, using the approach honed at Tinkering Camps, teach a mix of design, art, engineering, and woodworking activities. Classes include skills building, safe tool use, individual and group projects, and open build time. This hands-on, minds-on workshop is fun and creative! For tinkerers who want more time to work on their projects, open studio time is available for the hour preceding each class for an additional fee. Limited on site storage is available for in-process projects. Please read our In-Person COVID policies. Inquire about private classes mail@rediscovercenter.org
