Stay Tuned for Our Next Swap!
Admission: $5 with a bag of kids clothes to swap It is suggested to also bring a base such as a tshirt or hoodie and a sketch of your idea! Volunteers will work with you to embellish or create using reDiscover materials. No registration or reservations needed! Just show up!
How does it work? Partipants bring a bag of unwanted clothing and a small donation ($5+). Your bag is sorted by clothing size and will be added to the swap pile. Everyone is welcome to take a little or a lot from the swap pile while working on swap items. Volunteer sewers and crafters will be availble at D.I.Y. stations to help you fix or refashion your findings. You leave with all the clothes you can carry!
Who attends? Everyone is welcome -- it isn't just for kids. What if I don't want to sew or craft? You are welcome to just swap clothes. But I don't know how to sew! No problem, our volunteers are fun and friendly -- here to help you realize your fashion concept. If you want to learn to sew they can help you with that too. Is that all? No -- screen printing, felting, and applique are just some of the craft stations that may be available for you to recreate and refashion! Hey, I can sew-- can I volunteer? Yes! Anyone with skills to share is welcome to contact us about volunteering or just show up.
Swap-O-Rama-Rama is an international community of clothing swaps and do-it-yourself workshops in which community explores creative reuse through the recycling of used clothing. Thank you to Wendy Tremayne for originating the concept in 2005 and Lori Petitti Sakamoto for bringing it to Los Angeles.
